La presente investigación tiene como objetivo analizar la manera en las mujeres residentes en un contexto de alta inmigración significan la experiencia de la maternidad adolescente dentro de su trayectoria de vida y se construyen como sujetos, aportando elementos teóricos que contribuyan a ampliar la comprensión de la maternidad adolescente. Desde el lente teórico de la subjetividad y empleando el método biográfico como orientación metodológica se pudo comprender los procesos de subjetivación despliegan las madres adolescentes y las relaciones que guarda la maternidad con otros virajes e irrupciones en sus trayectorias de vida. Así, se realizaron entrevistas en profundidad a 24 mujeres entre 25 a 35 años, que hubieran tenido a su primer hijo entre los 12 y 19 años, pertenecientes a diferentes sectores socioeconómicos de Tijuana como escenario de alta inmigración, caracterizado por fuertes intercambios culturales producto de los flujos migratorios que allí confluyen. Entre los principales hallazgos de la investigación se resaltan que la construcción juvenil de las madres adolescentes se produce en medio de una tensión entre las atribuciones adjudicadas familiarmente, siempre volcadas a una idea de futuro y transitoriedad, y las vivencias que las mismas jóvenes fueron experimentando, las cuales permearon definiciones subjetivas ancladas en el presente. Igualmente se pudo constatar que la manera en que las mujeres significan la experiencia de la maternidad se encuentra yuxtapuesta con la experiencia del comienzo de la vida en pareja y la calidad de la relación, así como con el apoyo afectivo y económico de los padres, vivencias que tienden a bifurcar las estrategias de significación de las mujeres frente al evento de la maternidad.
This research aims to analyze the significance of the experience of teenage motherhood in the life trajectory of women living in a context of high immigration by providing theoretical elements that contribute to a broader understanding of teen motherhood. From the theoretical lens of subjectivity and using the biographical method as a methodological orientation, it was possible to understand the processes of subjectivization undertaken by teenage mothers and the relationships maternity has with other abrupt changes and irruptions in their life trajectory. In-depth interviews were conducted with twenty four women who were in the 25 to 35 age group, who had been teenage mothers and belonged to different socioeconomic sectors of Tijuana as a high migration scenario, characterized by strong cultural exchanges product of the converging migration flows. Among the key findings of the research is that the youth construction of adolescent mothers is produced amid tension between the attributions allotted within the family which are always focused on the idea of future and transience, and the experiences these young girls lived which permeated subjective definitions grounded in the present. Also, it was found that the way in which women represent the experience of motherhood is juxtaposed with the experience of the beginning of life as a couple and the quality of the relationship as well as the emotional and financial support of parents; these experiences tend to diverge women’s significance strategies when confronted with motherhood.
