Dr. Alberto D\u00edaz-Cayeros is an associate professor at the School of International Relations and Pacific Studies and director of the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies. Previously, he was an assistant professor at Stanford University. In 1997, Professor D\u00edaz-Cayeros received his Ph.D. in political science from Duke University. His research interests include poverty, development, federalism, clientelism, and patronage. He is currently working on a book manuscript entitled Strategies of Vote Buying: Social Transfers, Democracy and Welfare in Mexico.<\/p>\n
