Senior U.S. diplomat Shapiro to replace Davidow in October<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Charles<\/a>La Jolla — The Board of Directors of the Institute of the Americas has announced the appointment of Ambassador Charles S. Shapiro to be the organization\u2019s new president. Ambassador Shapiro, a career diplomat, is well known to those who follow U.S. policy in the region. Like his predecessor, Jeffrey Davidow, he served as ambassador to Venezuela.<\/span><\/p>\n
