Sessions will be held in Montezuma\u2019s office (IT 104) Montezuma Publishing is offering Thesis Q&A sessions for students who are trying to complete the thesis process in time to graduate this Spring or Summer. <\/span><\/p>\n

These sessions will address deadlines, tips on formatting, the review process, and publishing requirements. Sessions will last approximately 30-45 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you have students who are interested in attending one of these Q&A sessions, please have them email erin.clark@montezumapublishing.com<\/a> or call 594-2955 to reserve their spot. Space is limited, please RSVP by February 10th. <\/span><\/p>\n

Dr Vazqeuz\u2019s theme assumes the reforms that liberalized foreign direct investment (FDI) and manufacturing exports have greatly stimulated economic growth. However, the effects of economic liberalization on economic growth are not necessarily a direct effect but occur indirectly through the impact economic liberalization has had on the performance of other explanatory variables of FDI and exports. <\/span><\/p>\n

CALL FOR PAPERS International Graduate Student Research Conference on Latin America and the Caribbean: Creative and Critical Perspectives <\/span><\/h3>\n

11 & 12 March 2011 at York University, Toronto, Canada <\/span><\/p>\n

In recognition of the diversity within the region, creative and critical paper, panel and alternative presentation proposals are welcome on any aspect of study of Latin America and the Caribbean as a whole and\/or its constituent parts. This conference represents an outstanding opportunity to recognize and explore emergent innovative research by graduate students in all disciplines including (but not limited to) the social sciences, humanities, fine arts, environmental studies, law and business. We also seek contributors whose work can open fruitful dialogues and exchange across traditional disciplinary boundaries. <\/span><\/p>\n

Languages: We are accepting submissions in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish. <\/span><\/p>\n

The deadline for the submission of abstracts and panel proposals is November 30; those planning to present in alternative formats (e.g. film, dance, visual arts, music, etc.) are encouraged to contact us earlier. Summer Intensive Courses in Yucatec Maya Beginning-Intermediate-Advanced <\/span><\/h3>\n

June 13 – July 22, 2011 <\/span><\/p>\n

Students will have the unique opportunity to take a comprehensive look at the Yucat\u00e1n through a combination of classroom and field activities. Students visit a range of important historic and cultural locations. Trips to archeological and colonial sites as well as other Mayan villages are led by Mayan <\/span><\/p>\n

Application and Enrollment <\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Total combined enrollment for all three levels is limited to 20 students. Students are encouraged to apply early. Applications are invited from anyone who wishes to study Yucatec Maya. Application deadline for program admission is March 15. <\/span><\/p>\n
