Summer Research Program

Program Description<\/h4>\n
\n

The Summer Research Program was launched by COMEXUS within the framework of The US-Mexico Bilateral Forum on Higher Education, Innovation and Research (FOBESII), that complements the 100 thousand strong in the Americas Initiative and Mexico\u00b4s\u00a0Proyecta 100Mil<\/i>\u00a0which seek to increase student mobility between Mexico and the United States. The program supports academic mobility for undergraduate Mexican students in the STEM fields.<\/p>\n

The call for applications is now open for undergraduate students enrolled in semesters 6th through 8th. This program allows students to become assistants of an ongoing research project in the United States. Lasting 6-to-8 weeks, this program\u00a0requires students to be available from mid-June through late-August<\/b>\u00a0of the current year. The duration of their stay will depend on the university program they are assigned to.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 Geophysics Engineering
\n\u2022 Electronic Engineering
\n\u2022 Robotic Engineering
\n\u2022 Mechatronics Engineering
\n\u2022 Physics
\n\u2022 Environmental Engineering
\n\u2022 Environmental Systems
\n\u2022 Chemical Engineering
\n\u2022 Chemical Sciences
\n\u2022 Electric Engineering
\n\u2022 Informatics Engineering
\n\u2022 Mechanical Engineering
\n\u2022 Pharmaceutics Engineering

Selected students may be assigned to one of the following universities:<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, RIVERSIDE
\n\u2022 UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO
\n\u2022 UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS, AUSTIN<\/p>\n

Requirements<\/h4>\n

Candidates who are enrolled in one of the listed programs and in their 6th through 8th semester must also meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Be a Mexican national without US residency or a dual citizenship
\n\u2022 Be enrolled in a higher education institution in Mexico
\n\u2022 Have a minimum 8.5 grade point average
\n\u2022 Demonstrate intermediate or advanced English proficiency through TOEFL or IELTS results
\n\u2022 A valid passport<\/p>\n

As evidence of the previous requirements, interested candidates must upload the following documents, in PDF format, in the following link:\u00a0https:\/\/form.jotform.com\/80525053524955<\/a>. No photographs will be accepted.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Certified academic record proving the minimum average (8.5) from their university
\n\u2022 Proof of English requirements through a TOEFL test (550 PBT, 213 CBT o 79 IBT) or IELTS equivalent
\n\u2022 Two academic recommendation letters of professors, supporting their candidacy (MUST be written in English)
\n\u2022 A 300-600 word personal statement explaining why you are the right candidate for the program (MUST be written in English)
\n\u2022 A copy of a valid passport<\/p>\n
