\n\u00abThe Ecological Footprint of Poverty Alleviation: Evidence from Mexico’s Oportunidades Program\u00bb is a study of the consequences of poverty alleviation programs for environmental degradation in Mexico, co-authored by Jennifer Alix-Garcia, Craig McIntosh, Jarrod Welch (IR\/PS) and Katharine Sims (Amherst College).<\/p>\n

Jennifer Alix-Garcia<\/strong> is an Assistant Professor of Agriculture and Applied Economics at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Her research interests include the fields of development and environmental economics. Professor Alix-Garcia received her B.S. from the University of Michigan, her M.A.L.D. from the Tufts University and her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.<\/p>\n

Craig McIntosh<\/strong> is an Associate Professor of Economics at the School of International Relations and Pacific Studies, UCSD. His main research interest is the design of institutions which promote the provision of financial services to micro-entrepreneurs. Professor McIntosh received his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Cruz and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.<\/p>\n
